While retaining a vast micro-textured hard surface (355 mm x 255 mm), the consistency is slightly thinner, with Razer shaving off about 3 mm.

As promised, the company Razer micro-textured has included a surface and is calibrated for all mouse sensors. The company claims that these textures should also provide pixel-precision tracking. Meanwhile, the back has a non-slip coating that will prevent the mousepad from sliding around while you use it. Razer also includes a cable mount, which makes it easier to use a wired mouse when playing games.

The Razer Firefly V2 has everything it takes to look visually impressive and put on a light show. When the braided USB cable is plugged in, the Chroma RGB LED light running along the mouse pad will cycle through the colours of the spectrum by default. There are 19 lighting zones, which is an increase from the 15 zones on the original Firefly. For further customization, lighting can be tweaked in a total of up to 16.8 million colour options or set with multiple lighting effects via the Razer Chroma Studio and Razer Synapse 3 software.

Lab-tested surfaces come with a micro-textured coating, so mouse and cursor movements are mirrored precisely, allowing you to aim and manoeuvre with peak accuracy. The unique aspect of the Razer Firefly V2 is the new cable catch. Since game settings can get messy, these new cable hooks can be found on the left side of the mat.

Allows the mouse cable to loop inside and is designed to reduce cable resistance from the wired mouse. It can be beneficial for games like Valorant, Apex Legend and other FPS games where every little movement counts.

Overall

The Razer Firefly V2’s hard surface remains the same as its predecessor, as does the non-slip rubber base. Even though the character has a rough micro-texture, it still allows the mouse to drag smoothly across the top.

Razer claims Razer Firefly V2 it was designed and optimized to provide the “perfect balance between control and speed,” as it has been “tested to work with a wide range of sensors and mouse sensitivities.” Again, this is useful for gaining a competitive edge in fast-paced shooter games and FPS style and battle royale
