Razer Basilisk Ultimate

Razerthink – The Razer Basilisk Ultimate is so great mouse for FPS gaming. This mouse has one of the best sensor performances ever. With adjustable CPI range, adjustable polling rate. As well as the ability to reprogram each button. There are 14 customizable RGB zones across the mouse, and the legs are a nice improvement over the regular Razer Basilisk. Allows the mouse to glide more easily on your desk.

It can be used with any grip with any hand size, and people with smaller hands will likely only have problems with fingertip or claw grip. Razer Basilisk Ultimate is also very good for MMO games. Although it doesn’t have as many buttons as a dedicated MMO mouse, it has three additional buttons and every other control. Reprogrammable in Razer software. The scroll wheel has an L/R tilt which is also reprogrammable.

It is comfortable enough for marathon gaming sessions and can be used in any grip with almost any hand size. Slightly sharper design on the front and nicer texture on the thumb rest. It has an ergonomic right-hand design, with many customizable buttons and 14 RGB zones. This mouse can be used either wired or wireless and is a versatile mouse overall.

Design

The Razer Basilisk Ultimate looks similar to the regular Razer Basilisk but slightly sharper front on the L/R buttons. The thumb on the left also has a texture that feels so premium. It has the same RGB lighting on each side, the mouse, and the logo as a regular Basilisk.

This Razer Basilisk Ultimate Mouse is very Ergonomic and is great for right-handed people. The shape is quite comfortable with buttons that are easy to press and a thumb-rest on the left side. The build quality Razer Basilisk Ultimate is great. Made of quality plastic, feet feel better. There are no loose or wobbly parts.

Two buttons on the left side of the mouse are just a short distance from the thumb rest, making macro shooting easy. The DPI adjustment knob is conveniently placed below the scroll wheel, allowing for quick and easy sensitivity adjustments. The rubber on both sides of the mouse ensures a firm and comfortable grip during intense gaming sessions.

You can adapt the resistance of the scroll wheel with the smaller wheel located at the bottom of the mouse. The mouse has a wireless Type-A dongle that sits comfortably in a compartment with a detachable one at the bottom of the mouse. The Basilisk Ultimate button uses an optical switch; Razer claims this net increases durability (70 million versus 50 million click life) and three times faster actuation speed.

In use, the mouse buttons are perfectly responsive but lack some of the satisfying tactile feels of buttons supported by mechanical switches. As a result, the buttons can feel a bit spongy at times. Basilisk Ultimate features 14 lighting zones that can be controlled via the free Razer Synapse software. Razer lighting remains among the brightest in games; you can easily adjust the brightness to the more subtle side with Synapse.

The Razer Basilisk Ultimate can be used wired or wireless. It comes with a USB receiver that can be plugged directly into your PC or into the included stand to work as an extension of your PC that is too far from your mouse.

Game Performance

The Basilisk Ultimate uses Razer’s Focus+ Optical sensor with features that can automatically calibrate itself for different surfaces for consistent left-hand driving and an adjustable landing distance. The Razer sensors are incredibly responsive and accurate, as are the optical switches behind each button. It makes the game feel instinctive. Gestures and clicks are registered almost instantly, and any fear of wireless input lags should be dispelled.

The high DPI setting is optimal for playing fidgety FPS titles like Valorant and Counterstrike, and the convenient placement of the sensitivity adjustment knob makes it easy to downshift for some precise sniping. The less-than-ideal placement of the sniper button makes using it during gameplay very comfortable, so I abandoned it entirely in favor of quickly adjusting the DPI via the button near the scroll wheel.

Battery life

The Razer Basilisk Ultimate lasts up to 20 hours of intense use with full RGB lighting. Razer claims the battery can last up to 100 hours with the lighting turned off. You can extend battery life by setting a threshold when the mouse enters the Low Power Mode. By default, it is set to 30% battery life. You charge the mouse using the included MicroUSB to USB cable or charging dock, which also has an RGB strip along the bottom.
